Choose Your Nostr.json Setup

Nostr CMS requires a nostr.json file for authentication. Choose an option:

🍴 Fork nip05-service

Fork the nip05-service repo and manage your nostr.json on GitHub. Great for NIP-05 identities.

🐝 Use Swarm Relay

Deploy a Swarm relay which includes a built-in nostr.json and Blossom media server. Best for full-featured setups with scheduled posts.

Fork Option: Fork bitkarrot/nip05-service on GitHub. Your nostr.json URL will be: https://yourusername.github.io/nip05-service/.well-known/nostr.json

Alternatively, deploy your fork to Vercel — the repo already ships a vercel.json and a serverless registration API. Your nostr.json URL becomes https://your-project.vercel.app/.well-known/nostr.json. Copy the prompt below and paste it into your AI assistant to deploy:

Nostr CMS is designed to work best with a Blossom relay for optimal media handling and content storage. Blossom is a Nostr protocol extension for file storage.

You can optionally use any other Nostr relay, but Blossom relays provide the best experience.

Optional environment variables:

VITE_ENABLE_NSEC_LOGIN=true — shows the nsec (secret key) paste/import login option in the CMS. It is hidden by default for security. Set this only if admins need to log in with a raw nsec — extension (NIP-07) and bunker (NIP-46) logins always work without it.
VITE_SWARM_API_URL — only needed for the scheduled-posts feature when your Swarm API lives at a different URL than your relay (e.g., https://swarm.example.com/api). If unset, it auto-derives from VITE_DEFAULT_RELAY as https://<relay-host>/api. Requires a Swarm relay backend.
